Bike Gear Kids

My wife and I have a son who is now 16 months old. Where is a good family vacation spot?
Wife and I try to take at least 2 holidays a year, one week. Sometimes two weeks. Probably looking for a trip to go through two weekends this time, then back home. We are fighting Holiday ideas with 16 months of age with a child. Some of the places like cruise ships and as they really seemed more geared for children 2 years or more. We would like travel before the holiday date. Somewhere with enough interaction with other children and activities to occupy our son from time to time. If a service Kangaroo is present, fine. Mom and Dad can do things ranging from just reading and relaxing to get maybe a swimming pool, bike, etc. We are wide pair, if we can relax. Any suggestions?
Assuming we are not living in southern California. Go there. All kinds of entertainment for its 16 Old Boy month and if you and your wife as amusement parks and zoos, then their fate. San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park. Sea World, Lego Land. The beach at all in the San Diego area. Big hotels and restaurants as well. Then go to the coast of Orange County, home to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, more beaches and excellent hotels and restaurants. Any of the hotels you stay also have brochures on all the activities to be done. Oh, and have a day to go one of my favorite places Catalina Island. Have a good time wherever they end up going!
